Republican Herschel Walker provided his explanation of air pollution at a campaign event over the weekend as he continued his efforts to win a Georgia Senate seat.
The 60-year-old College Football Hall of Famer began the discussion on climate change, saying, “In America, we have the cleanest air and cleanest water of anyone in the world.”
CNN reported that in 2021, IQAir found that air pollution in the United States exceeded World Health Organization guidelines by 2 to 3 times. Of the 6,475 cities analyzed by the company, only 222 had average air quality that was in line with WHO standards.
Walker said in his speech, “Since we don’t control the wind, our good wind decides to float in China’s bad air. So when China gets our good air, their bad wind blows. So this Onwards goes our good air space. Then – now we have to clean that back up.”
