Israel Adesanya had no idea that WWE executives Vince McMahon, Stephanie McMahon, and Triple H (real name Paul Levesque) would appear at UFC 276 when he made his walkout to one of the most famous entrances in professional wrestling history. Decided to copy.
When the lights went down, a loud bell echoed inside the T-Mobile Arena and the music was followed by the theme song for WWE Hall of Famer The Undertaker, in which Adesanya followed his exact routine, which included covering his eyes. According to Adesanya, the idea for the Pro Wrestling Style Walkout came to him during training camp when he was using WWE’s theme songs to help him progress through practice.
“It just works, the subject for me. I’m an artist. It just works,” Adesanya said at the UFC 276 post-fight press conference. “Wednesday is when we wrestle. At the end of rounds, round 12, towards the end, the last three or four rounds, I’ll chuck my playlist from YouTube, WWE Attitudes from the Attitude Era. I have like 20 different tracks from superstars I admire and that would take me into that territory, and the Undertaker theme was one of them.
