Husband
Sidney McLaughlin and her husband Andre Levrone Jr. are married!
The Olympic track and field athlete and former NFL star tied the knot on Friday in Madison, Virginia, nine months after getting engaged in August 2021, PEOPLE can exclusively confirm.
“We’ve been waiting for this day for a very long time, so just excited that it’s finally here and we can say we’re married,” says McLaughlin, 22.
The couple’s ceremony and reception were held at the romantic and rustic Early Mountain Vineyards in Madison, Virginia, as planned and designed by Amore Events Company.
McLaughlin wore a Pallas Couture dress that featured a veil of Vera Wang and Jimmy Choo heels and accessorised with jewelry from Zales. Her bridal hairdo was done by Jess with Beautiful Braid, the makeup look was done by Michelle Eva and the nails were perfected by Phil Tran.
The 27-year-old groom wore a suit by Brian Alexander with Salvatore Ferragamo shoes and a Tag Heuer watch.
During the ceremony, the couple exchanged wedding bands under the guidance of pastor Greg Hendrix—his tacori, by the Blue Nile. The emotional and romantic marriage was accompanied by the music of Chandler Moore The Gospel Group.
400m time
When her time was announced, McLaughlin flashed a broad smile, then a thumbs-up. She crossed the finish line at Hayward Field in 51.41 seconds, breaking her own record of 51.46 set at last year’s Tokyo Games, where she won the gold medal.
“I mean it’s Track Town USA, what do you expect? Every time I come here I feel like something amazing is going to happen.”
When asked how she would celebrate later, McLaughlin joked: “Eating some real food other than vegetables. Cheeseburgers or something, like some pancakes.”
The top three finishers in each event at the national championships will represent the United States at the World Outdoor Championships at Hayward Field in Eugene next month. It is the first time that the largest track and field event outside the Olympics will be held on American soil.
Delilah Muhammad was ruled out of the race with a minor injury, but she has already qualified for the World Championships as the defending champion in the event. McLaughlin was defeated in the U.S. by runner-up Briton Wilson and third-place finisher Shamier Little. Will also be included in the team.
Bikini
I’ll accept it. This summer I’ve already reduced my portions of hot dogs, chips (they’re always in front of me!), and milkshakes. Oh, and let’s not forget my friend Sam Adams… he’s been through a lot lately. But all those goodies have done no good to my body, that’s for sure.
