The Golden State Warriors did everything they could on Sunday night to avoid going down 2-0 to the Boston Celtics in the NBA Finals. The Warriors leveled the series with a 107–88 win, but they nearly lost one of their key players in the second quarter, when Drummond Green came close to receiving his second technical foul.
It happened just before halftime when Green fouled Boston’s Jaylen Brown in a 3-point effort. The two then tangled slightly on the ground and Green put his feet on top of Brown and then the two exchanged a few words before parting.
The referee reviewed the play and could have given a technical fault to both players but elected not to issue either. Green had received a technical earlier in the game, so a second would have sent him to the locker room early.
