Timme is a highly skilled force who is one of the core forces of an ultra-talented Gonzaga team. He is a skilled passer, an accomplished scorer and an able defender who projects at the NBA level as a high-end role player.
Post play is not in vogue these days but neither are handlebar mustaches and Timme is trying to bring them both back. He is a super clever low post scorer who uses great footwork, fakes the ball and up and down moves to get the defender to balance. He has a knack for hitting short flips, fall-aways and scoring from awkward angles. I wonder how this will translate at the NBA level but so far the results speak for themselves. Timme averages over 19ppg at over 65% off the field. Impressive to say the least.
Timme has a nice shooting touch, but isn’t a prime weapon from the 3pt land yet (though he projects to be a good 3pt shooter in time). He will be asked to hit 3 balls at NBA level and should be able to increase his shooting range over the next few seasons as he continues to develop. This will be an important skill for him to take to the next level.
He’s not the most explosive athlete, but he’s quick enough to hang with an NBA power forward — but won’t be able to switch to an NBA guard. He is not much of a rim protector and his main value will be on the offensive end.
Timme doesn’t get much lift off the ground and is below the rim player. That’s fine on the offensive end because he’s very smart with the ball, but it hurts him on the defensive end and when competing for rebounds.

Gonzaga star forward Drew Timmey’s college career is over, as he announced Thursday that he will enter the 2022 NBA Draft.
“The dream has always been to play professionally. After much deliberation and discussion, I will put my name in the NBA draft.
In his Twitter announcement, Timme described how grateful he was to attend Gonzaga University and play basketball in the West for the past three years.
“One of the best decisions I ever made was to come to the University of Spokane and Gonzaga to play basketball in front of the Zag Nation,” he wrote. “I am privileged to play and support the best coaches, teammates, fans, friends and family one could ask for. I have changed into a better person and basketball player forever because of that opportunity!

A prospect as brilliant as Holmgren, it was Timme who completely dominated each of Gonzaga’s first two matches.
Timme exploded to beat Georgia State in the round of 64 for 32 points and 13 rebounds, and his second-half bounce kept Gonzaga’s national championship hopes alive in a comeback win of 32 over Memphis. The upper class had only four points in the first half, but they came out of the break with a different level of energy, putting up 21 points (!) in the second half to push the Bulldogs into Sweet 16.
