That water bottle was thrown towards the Colorado Avalanche, Nazem Qadri hardly coming out of nowhere.

For two straight seasons, Kadri has been an agitator who inspires Colorado and the insect that drives the St. Louis Blues crazy.

In Saturday night’s 5-2 win, Qadri’s collision with Blues defenseman Calle Rosen ended with him on the lap of St. Louis goalkeeper Jordan Binnington, who left the game with a lower body injury in the first period and Now out of the playoffs.

Binnington was the most likely candidate among those who would have bottled water in Qadri’s direction while he was doing the on-camera postgame interview.

The controversial collision, the water bottle, the series-ending injury to Binnington – it all comes about 52 weeks after Qadri’s hit on Justin Faulk, who missed the rest of that playoff series and resulted in an eight-game loss for Qadri. Suspension happened.
