Jamie Randolph Benn (born July 18, 1989) is a Canadian professional ice hockey winger and captain of the Dallas Stars of the National Hockey League (NHL). Before turning professional, Ben played his junior hockey career with the Kelowna Rockets of the Western Hockey League (WHL). He represented Canada at the 2009 World Junior Championships, where he helped secure the gold medal. With Team Canada, he won the gold medal at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia. He is the younger brother of defending teammate Jordi Benn, who plays for the Minnesota Wild, and is a former teammate of Jamie. In the 2014–15 season, Benn was Art as the league’s leading scorer with 87 points. Ross Trophy was awarded. Under his leadership, The Stars went to the Stanley Cup final in 2020.

After fined Sunday for high-sticking Calgary’s Andrew Mangiapen, Ben scored another $5,000 fine for tripping Flames forward Trevor Lewis in Monday’s Game 4 loss.
In contrast to his fine from Game 3, Ben received a two-minute penalty for his trip to Lewis Monday.
The Stars captain is without a point in the series and has six penalty minutes in addition to surrendering $10,000 in fines.

The Dallas Stars captain was fined $5,000 for the second consecutive game, this time for traveling Calgary Flames forward Trevor Lewis. He was assessed a minor penalty for tripping over the play.
Ben was seen kicking Lewis’ left foot from under him as the two fought to get past the loose puck at the start of the second period. He also knocked out Flames defenseman Christopher Tanev on a similar play in Game 3. He was not fined for that violation.
The NHL’s Player Safety Department struck Ben with the maximum allowable financial penalty, with the money going to the NHL’s Player Assistance Fund.
