Thomas was born and raised in New York City, NY, and is a traveler from various states.

Thomas’s family consists of his mother, Barbara Hardin; their daughters, Elizabeth Murray (John), Amber Sheets (Barry), Emily Gallegos (Eleger), and Vera Hardin; his grandchildren, Madison, Michelle, Matthew, Benjamin, Colin, Abigail, Norelli, Jackson, Emilia, Sela and Georgia; two brothers, Calmer (Bud) Hardin III (Jenny), and David Hardin (Tony); two nieces, Kira Kelly, Kristin Moore; and a nephew, David Hardin II; And many cousins.
Before his death his father, Calmar (Bud) Hardin Jr.; His grandparents, Calmar Hardin Sr., Louise Hardin, Stencil May, Vera May; and an uncle, Thomas Earl Hardin.
Tommy, affectionately called Kat, was a devoted son, brother, father and grandfather. A longtime Florida Gator fan, Tommy loved sports and all things outdoors. He was a business owner and a member of the Brandon Fellowship Baptist Church.
The family will receive visitors for Thomas on Sunday, August 8, 2021 from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Hillsborough Memorial Funeral Home, 2323 West Brandon Blvd., Brandon, FL 33511. A funeral service will take place on Monday, August 9. 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the 2021 Hillsborough Memorial Funeral Home.
Arrested
Yet another black transgender woman has been killed by violence, Thomas Hardin of York, S.C., and a suspect is arrested—a former romantic partner of Hardin.
Hardin was murdered on May 2, but it is now widely reported that she was transgender. Hardin identified as female but continued to use the name Thomas and both male and female pronouns. According to the Human Rights Campaign, little is known about Hardin’s life, but friends have remembered him as someone who “always made you laugh”.
Hardin’s family and friends became concerned when they hadn’t heard from him for a while, so they called the police, who found him dead at a house in York, local station WBTV reports. Police did not reveal the cause of death, but friends said Hardin was shot.
The Chester County Sheriff’s deputy took 26-year-old suspect Tyler Terry into custody on Monday after a week-long search. According to WBTV, he is charged with at least four murders in two states, including Hardin. He had become homeless and was living in a wooded area.
Houston Police
Leaders of the Houston Police Department testified Thursday before the City of Houston’s Committee on Public Safety and Homeland Security about their stalking policy.
Council members wanted to know more about what goes into making a decision to pursue a suspect, as many law enforcement chases had recently turned deadly across the region.

“There’s been a lot of questions around this lately,” said council member Abby Kamin, chair of the Public Safety and Homeland Security Committee.
HPD assistant chief Thomas Hardin described how officers would weigh things like the seriousness of the reported crime, any risks to spectators, and even weather or population density before pursuing an escape suspect. Huh.
“These are rapidly changing conditions,” Hardin said. “Some searches are slow, with DWI, some are long and fast. It’s all situation-dependent.”
It may sound like much, but over the past three years, HPD said that less than half of all their traffic stops have resulted in police chases.
