During his junior year at Cardinal Ritter College Prep, his track team injured their other star runner Hasni Barr at the end of the season. Originally, it was planned for Barr to run the 200-meter as well as the 400-meter, while Williams handled the 100-meter and 300-meter hurdles.

However, when Williams was full in the state finals, Cardinal Ritter had to compete in all four races to help collect enough points to earn his first title in 20 years. Despite running back-to-back races, the speedster won the state title in both the 300m hurdles and the 400m, while finishing second in the 200m.

Williams’ title in the 300m hurdles saw her defend her state crown. During his sophomore year, he posted a blistering 37.28 times, breaking the state record previously held by the current Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott. This mark still stands as Missouri’s top time in the event.

While he is now best known for his speed, Williams’ handicap abilities are the stuff of legends in Cardinal Ritter. His most memorable jump occurred on the football field during the season-opening game of his senior season.

Breaking records with track-star speed the way Jameson Williams did in high school is going to get the attention of Ohio State anywhere.

But when is it a mark held by Ezekiel Elliot? Well, a surefire way to make sure the Buckeyes are hooked is by taking a closer look at a prospect.

Williams already had a lot of eye on his adventures on the football field as he uncovered his athleticism and developed into a four-star wide receiver in St. But it was blazing work on the track and record-breaking times in the 300-meter hurdles that helped push him to the top, and the Buckeyes have proven many times that they know what to do with that kind of talent ā€” especially from in case of need.

Highlights

With textbook route-running, Jameson Williams found open space downfield with two defenders chasing him.

The Alabama wide receiver, one of the most accomplished prospects in this year’s NFL Draft, was just across the line of scuffle with Georgia cornerback Kelly Ringo. Williams pumped her feet into the line, using that moment of hesitation to withdraw from the press coverage.

Williams drove a stop-and-go. About 12 yards from the line of scuffle, he stuttered and dipped his head, pretending he was going to break the other way. Ringo was forced to lose momentum.

By then it was over. Williams was very quick. He was on his way to a 55-yard touchdown at last year’s SEC Championships.
