Marcus Osmond Smart (born March 6, 1994) is an American professional basketball player for the Boston Celtics of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He played college basketball for the Oklahoma State Cowboys before being drafted with the sixth overall pick in the 2014 NBA draft.

Last night, the Celtics took a 2-0 lead over the Brooklyn Nets and their defense contributed to that win. The Celtics were outscored in the first half, but were only 10 points down at halftime, thanks to their defence. In the second half, the Celtics made a comeback while continuing their offensive defense on Kevin Durant. He reduced it to just 27 points on a 4-of-17 shoot from the ground.
Smart was a major factor in the Celtics’ second half comeback. He was micked during the game and he was heard insisting to his teammates that even if they were down.

The Celtics signed guard Marcus Smart on Monday to a four-year, $77.1 million extension, according to The Athletics shams Charaniya.
SMART’s expansion will begin in the 2022-23 season. He will earn $14.3 million in 2021-22.
Smart, 27, has played each of his seven NBA seasons with Boston after being selected with the No. 6 pick in the 2014 NBA Draft. The Oklahoma State product last season scored a career-high 13.1 points and 5.7 assists per game, though he shot just 39.8 percent off the field. Smart is a two-time all-defense selection.
Boston enters 2021–22 looking for an eighth consecutive playoff appearance, although the franchise has not reached the finals since 2010. Former Nets assistant Ime Udoka would serve as head coach of the Celtics the following season, when Brad Stevens took a role in the team’s front office.
