Although most people were deeply moved by the Will Smith and Chris Rock slap drama, some eagle-eyed fans noticed Venus Williams’ wardrobe malfunction. He took to social media to admit that Thappad stole the show and outnumbered any nip slips.

Venus Williams herself had a wardrobe malfunction during Sunday night’s Oscars, and it didn’t even come close to the biggest story of the awards show.

Williams wore a very low-cut dress to the event. His falling shirt line was so short that the Daily Mail Celebrity Twitter account shared a presentational tweet. He assumed that Williams was risking a wardrobe malfunction. Sure enough, when the cameras showed the tennis star, her dress failed to give her full protection.

Reaction to will smith

Amidst all the uproar over Will Smith slapping Chris Rock at the Oscars, let’s not lose what should have been a pivotal moment of glory for Venus and Serena Williams that was completely ruined. After Rock made a deafening joke at the expense of his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith, who lives with alopecia, Smith went on stage and slapped the comedian hard in the face before shouting: “My wife’s name is yours. Leave the f**king out of the mouth.”

The 53-year-old later claimed the Academy Award for Best Actor for playing tennis stars Venus and Serena’s father Richard Williams in the film King Richard. Smith gave a tearful acceptance speech in which he attempted to semi-apology and clumsily compared his actions to Richard’s.

“Art imitates life,” he said. “I look like the crazy daddy they said about Richard Williams. But love will drive you crazy.” On Tuesday, Smith tendered an unconditional apology for the slap, admitting that his behavior was “unacceptable and unforgivable.”
