After sustaining a left leg injury during the first half of Wednesday’s competition versus the Boston Celtics, the Golden State Warriors announced that Steph Curry would not return to the game. The severity of the injury is not yet known, but Steve Kerr and the Warriors were not happy with the play that left Steph with the injury.

As Marcus Smart was diving for a loose ball, he rolled onto Curry’s leg, causing an injury that has now ruled him out for the remainder of the game. While there was no clear intention on the part of Smart, who was trying to retrieve a loose ball, Steve Kerr had an animated conversation with him.

“I thought it was a dangerous game. I thought Marcus got into Steph’s knee,” Kerr said. “That’s what bothered me. Huge respect for Marcus, he is one hell of a player, gamer, competitor. I coached him in the World Cup a few summers. We talked after the game, we’re good. I thought it was a dangerous game, just tell him.”

Smart said he understood Kerr’s criticism, but insisted he would never intentionally hurt a fellow professional.
