Injury update
The Golden State Warriors lost their remaining game versus the Boston Celtics to Stephen Curry on Wednesday in what the team described as a pain in the left leg. No other details given.
Curry came out late in the second quarter and was out shortly after halftime. The injury occurred when Curry and Marcus Smart were chasing a loose ball. Smart dove and landed on Curry’s left foot. Shortly after the final buzzer sounded, it was announced that Curry would undergo an MRI of his injured leg.
Warriors coach Steve Kerr was not pleased with Smart’s aggression in that position. As you can see in this video, Kerr and Smart were “talking” and you can draw your own conclusions about what is being discussed.
Kerr obviously wouldn’t be happy to have his star player swing his leg by an opposing player, but Smart didn’t do anything wrong here. He was chasing a loose ball. We love to criticize NBA players for not working hard, and that’s exactly what Smart did here. He immediately went to the floor, and in fact, Curry stepped under him when Smart was already in his .

SAN FRANCISCO – Golden State Warriors star guard Stephen Curry was ruled out of the second half of their 110-88 loss to the Boston Celtics on Wednesday night due to a pain in his left leg. He had an MRI done soon after the game.
When asked about his concern about Curry’s leg, Warriors coach Steve Kerr said, “We’ll know after the MRI.”
Curry injured his leg at the 4:17 mark of the second quarter when he was rolled over by Marcus Smart of the Celtics, as the two wrestled for a loose ball.
After the play, Kerr was shown yelling at Smart.
“I thought it was a dangerous game,” Kerr said. “I thought Marcus bumped into Steph, and that’s what I was upset about. Lots of respect for Marcus. He’s one hell of a player, a gamer, a competitor. I coached him at the World Cup a few summers ago. We Talked after the game and we are good. But I thought it was a dangerous game.”
Smart explained that he didn’t see Curry and was going after the ball.
“I looked at the ball, I dove for the ball, trying to make a play,” Smart said. “Unfortunately it happened.”
He said: “I’m sure I’ll be called dirty. But I know who I am. … I work very hard and I leave everything on the court. … My teammates, my colleagues, they You know I’m not a dirty player.”
After getting up, Curry tried to get out of the pain. He was then seen on the bench during the ensuing time, but instead of returning to the court, he went back to the locker room.
His return was previously labeled as suspicious, but after being checked through halftime, he was downgraded.
There were just three points on 1-of-4 shooting in the 14 minutes before Curry’s exit.
Warriors forward Drummond Green said he was unwilling to say that Smart had “played dirty”.
