Kyrie was born on 23 March 1992 in Melbourne, Australia. For this reason he has dual citizenship with the United States and Australia. He went to high school at Montclair Kimberley Academy and later transferred to St. Patrick’s High School in New Jersey. He joined the Duke Blue Devils to play college basketball for one season, after which he announced for the 2011 NBA Draft.

In her first season, Kyrie Irving averaged 17.0 ppg, 5.0 rpg., 6.0 epg. and 2.0 SPG, and led the team to its third New Jersey Tournament of Champions title in four years.
