Francisco Jose Martín (born March 23, 1966) is an American basketball coach. Frank Martin was the head coach of the University of South Carolina men’s basketball team for the first ten seasons. Martin is married to Anya Forrest, a former star athlete and University of Massachusetts alum. They have three children, Brandon, Amalia and Christian. Brandon currently plays for the Gamecocks men’s basketball team, relocating from USC Upstate in 2021. Martin, who grew up in Miami, Florida, is the son of a Cuban political exile and the first American-born member of his family.[2][3] He earned a bachelor’s degree in physical education from Florida International University in 1993.

Hair
According to reporter Michael Lanana, Martin says he started losing his hair after a positive COVID-19 test in May, so he decided to shave it. This isn’t necessarily a permanent look, as Martin is set to grow his hair back when he returns.

In Martin’s time as coach, South Carolina was 171–147 overall. The Gamecocks finished in the top half of the SEC in three of the last four seasons, but were above .500 in conference play only four times in 10 seasons.
