The Houston Astros are fighting an uphill battle when it comes to trying to bring back Carlos Correa. What agreement can be reached in which everyone involved is ready to reunite and move on?

Well, the first thing that almost certainly has to happen is to prepare Houston to spend some more money.

Houston previously offered Korea a five-year, $160 million deal, a pretty sweet deal worth $32 million annually and would let Korea enter free agency at age 32, yet possibly Young enough to get another contract offer.

However, it seems that Korea really wants a longer deal, closer to $300 million a year. No one has actually offered him this and he has turned down a great deal from Detroit.

Major League Baseball’s owner-imposed lockdown ended on Thursday, meaning teams are now able to sign and trade free agents again. In other words, it’s time for stars like shortstop Carlos Correa to find new homes before Opening Day (April 7). Apparently, the rumor mill has started linking them to teams.

According to John Paul Morosi of MLB.com, the Chicago Cubs “are set to play a major role in Korea’s courtship”. Meanwhile, Houston Astros owner Jim Crane told FOX26’s Mark Berman of Korea: “I’m sure we’ll engage one more time.”

Correa, 27, entered the winter, ranked by CBS Sports as the top free agent on the market.

Carlos Correa is ready to say goodbye to his Montrose home.

Houston Astro Shortstop, now a free agent, recently put his home on the real estate market for $1,599,000.

The Contemporary Quarters sit on a 6,200-square-foot lot at 1231 Peden Street and boast three bedrooms and five bathrooms.

Features that this sleek, 3,657-square-foot home boasts include:

Brother

Astros Prospect Jesse Correa, the younger brother of Astros shortstop Carlos Correa, was promoted to the High-A Asheville Tourists on Monday.

The short Korea, also a shortstop, was drawn twice by the Astros. He was selected in the 33rd round of the 2018 draft from Alvin Community College and again in the 38th round out of Lamar in 2019. He has played 56 games with Low-A affiliate Fayetteville Woodpeckers this season and made .870 OPS, 28 walks and 30 strikeouts in 255 plate appearances. Korea led the club in runs (44) and hits (68) and finished second in RBI (32).

Weight

The MLB shortstop revolution is here—and it’s being led by Carlos Correa.

The Houston Astros star is changing what it means to be shortstop, with players like Addison Russell, Corey Seeger, Francisco Lindor and Xander Bogarts. Teams are no longer satisfied with defensive wizards whose glove skills are designed for a below average offense. Instead, the clubs want a heart-of-the-order hitter who can handle the most critical infield position—and Korea fits the bill perfectly.

The 6’4″, 220-pounder Correa has quickly become one of the most exciting players in baseball, blasting home runs, playing the Gold Glove-caliber defense, and leading his team to the top of the American League. He is going.
