Terez Paylor, popular NFL writer and pro football hall of fame voter, whose career took him from the Kansas City Star to Yahoo Sports, died unexpectedly at his home on Tuesday morning. He was 37. Yahoo Sports announced his death in a statement. No reason given.

One of Yahoo Sports’ leading NFL reporters, Paylor, died on February 9, 2021, as first reported by his fiancée, Ebony Reid.
While the cause of death was not immediately disclosed, Yahoo Sports editor-in-chief Johnson Luden also issued an official statement, in which Paylor died suddenly.
Luden said, “We are heartbroken to learn that our friend and teammate Paylor has passed away. Terez was a dogged, thoughtful report that many knew in the NFL. For us, he was a friend who always had a warm smile and a kind word. “
“He cared deeply about his family, was passionate about his work and was very proud of his Detroit and Kansas City roots,” Luden continued. “Our sympathies are with Terez’s family and all who know and care for him.”
