Jerry Davors Judy (born April 24, 1999) is an American football wide receiver for the Denver Broncos of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football in Alabama, where he was awarded the Fred Biletnikoff Award as the nation’s best wide receiver as a sophomore in 2018, and was drafted by the Broncos as the 15th overall pick of the 2020 NFL Draft .

Stats
Judy was the Crimson Tide’s leading receiver in each of his first two games, which ended with 137 yards and a touchdown in the first match of the season against Duke and 103 yards and three touchdowns against New Mexico State the following week. Due to quarterback Tua Tagovailoa’s season-ending injury, Judy eclipsed 100 yards in only two more games during the regular season. He finished the regular season with 959 receiving yards and 9 touchdowns and was again named first-team All-SEC. [17] He finished his junior season with six receptions for 204 yards and a touchdown in the Crimson Tide’s win over Michigan in the Citrus Bowl. In January 2020, Jeudy announced that he would be leaving his senior season by entering the 2020 NFL Draft.
Drops
In the world of football, nothing can be more irritating than a dropped pass, made especially for a wide-open receiver with room to run. Jerry Judy knows full well how frustrating those plays can be in the wake of his rookie campaign with the Denver Broncos.
Last season, rookie JUD had a drop rate of 17.6% which was the highest percentage of any receiver with at least 100 goals. He only caught 76.5% of his catchable passes, again the worst number in the league last season. 15 overall doesn’t bode well for a player picked with a draft pick and coming into the season with incredibly high expectations.
While it was disappointing to see Judy struggle with consistency in catching the ball, there is a lot more context to those drops than raw statistical data. Not all drops are created equal, and some can even be seen to defect to the quarterback’s legs when examining them on game film.
College
Judy enrolled early in Alabama and participated in spring practice for the 2017 season. He was named the MVP of Alabama’s A-Day Spring Game after catching five passes for 134 yards and two touchdowns. In the second game of the season for Alabama against Fresno State, Judy caught his first career pass. In total, Judy collected 14 receptions for 264 yards and two touchdowns during his true freshman season.
During the spring before her sophomore season in 2018, Judy underwent surgery for a meniscus injury that caused her to miss a part of spring practice. [7] He made a full recovery in time for fall camp, saying, “I feel great. I forgot I was injured to be real.” [8] JuD was named the third-team Precision All-SEC at the SEC Media Days.
Fantasy

Judy has had an extremely disappointing fantasy season. Due to injury and poor production, the second year wideout failed to find the final field in 2021. There are still too many for JuD, but the Broncos will have to solve their own under-center problem to get into the former top-15 pick. Prove yourself and your worth.

JuD’s non-eventual return from a one-game stay on the reserve/COVID-19 list was certainly a downfall for the fantasy managers who roll with them in the Week 18 League Championship games. The quiet end was in some ways a fitting end to a disappointingly sophomore NFL campaign for the 2020 first-round pick, in which he missed seven games overall and surprisingly never got to the end zone. The talented 22-year-old displayed some solid rapport with Teddy Bridgewater several times in his first season together, but it remains to be seen whether Judy will start 2022 with a third signal-collar in as many pro seasons as Bridgewater is slated to go unrestricted. Free agency, and if he doesn’t return to Denver, the Broncos will almost certainly bring in other competition for Drew Locke.
