Arthur Ray Briles (born December 3, 1955) is an American football coach who is currently the offensive coordinator for Grambling State University. Briles was the head coach of the Houston Cougars from 2002 to 2007 and the Baylor Bears from 2008 to 2015. His college coaching career ended with his dismissal from the team in 2015 as a result of the Baylor University sexual assault scandal before being hired at Grabling. state in 2022. Briles, 66, brings decades of college football experience to Gulfi. Rules, a Texas native, has spent almost his entire life playing and coaching football in the talent-rich football community of Texas. After playing receiver for Texas Tech (NCAA D1), Briles entered coaching as part of the competitive high school football ranks of Texas. He quickly climbed the coaching ladder to become the head coach of 2A Hamlin High School, then Georgetown High School, and eventually 4A Stephenville. At Stephensville, Brills held four state titles and a 135-29-2 record.
