Kamila Valeryevna Valieva (Russian: Kamila Valery qızı Valieva[1]; born 26 April 2006) is a Russian figure skater. He is the 2022 European champion, 2021 Rostelecom Cup champion, 2021 Skate Canada international champion, 2022 Russian national champion and 2021 Russian national silver medalist. He is also the 2022 Olympic champion in the team event. His competition at the 2022 Winter Olympics sparked controversy when it was confirmed that he had tested positive for trimetazidine, which is banned in sporting events to increase endurance, and two other drugs that are not banned. The anti-doping case opened as a result of a positive drug test will determine whether Valieva will be awarded for any medal performance at the Beijing Olympics.

Grandfather
Kamila Valieva’s legal team has claimed that her positive test may have come from a contaminated glass of water that contained traces of her grandfather’s heart medicine.
Speaking after the daily media briefing in Beijing, International Olympic Committee (IOC) member Dennis Oswald confirmed that the 15-year-old Russian’s explanation for his positive test for the banned angina drug trimetazidine was “contamination that occurred with a product.” which his grandfather was taking”.

Russian newspaper Pravda said Veliva’s lawyer Anna Kozmenko made a similar argument when the skater’s arbitration court for sports hearings took place on Sunday.

“Since going to the senior show, we’ve seen Kamilla make the most mistakes in a free skate,” Johnny Weir said on the NBC broadcast.
You can’t tell who won medals based on the skaters’ reactions. Anna Shcherbakova, who had won the gold medal, stood alone on the shore, watching Valieva break down.

A 15-year-old woman at the center of an ROC doping controversy struggled hard through her free skate routine on Thursday morning, missing the podium in the women’s singles figure skating event.
After finishing first in the short program, Veliva stumbled or fell at least four times in the free skate, achieving a score of 141.93 and giving her a total of 224.09, good only for fourth.
The teenager was left in tears after her performance as she was comforted by her coaches.
ROC’s Anna Shcherbakova and Alexandra Trusova won gold and silver respectively, while Japan’s Kaori Sakamoto earned bronze.
