Ingalls, who is out for the season with a torn ACL, is earning $12.4 million this season, which will deplete Portland from the books in the 2022 off-season. After eight seasons with the Utah Jazz, Ingalls will enter unrestricted free agency this summer.

Joe Ingalls is set to return to the Utah Jazz after the parties agreed on a new deal for the banned free agent, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
According to USA Today’s Sam Amick, the contract is reportedly worth $52 million over four years.
While Ingalls turned heads during the 2016–17 campaign with a career-best effort, he expressed a desire to stay on.
“Everyone knows I want to come back,” he told the Salt Lake Tribune’s Aaron Falk in May. “I couldn’t think of a better place to come back. Hopefully it all goes well and it’s a nice, quick process.”

Ingalls tweeted about the trade Wednesday night, writing, “Today hurts… … Spurs will receive guard Tomas Sotoranski with a second round pick. Jazz gets shooting guard Nickel Alexander-Walker from Portland Trail Blazers And the power forward will receive Juancho Hernangomez from San Antonio Spurs in the deal. Spurs will get guard Tomas Sotoranski with a second-round pick.
“I really can’t overstate how much he means to our organization and to me personally,” head coach Quinn Snyder said of Ingalls. “Not just his presence and the people he touched, the things he did in court, but as much as he did, the things he did for the fabric of our organization.”
The Jazz would also send Elijah Hughes to the Spurs in the deal. The Jazz will also send the Blazers a 2022 second-round pick through the Memphis Grizzlies and the Spurs 2027 second-round pick.
