David “Dave” Ziegler (born September 7, 1977) is an American football executive who is the general manager of the Las Vegas Raiders of the National Football League (NFL). Ziegler previously worked for the New England Patriots in various roles, eventually rising to the role of director of player personnel. Ziegler began his NFL career as a player personnel assistant with the Denver Broncos before serving in the scouting department for the Patriots from 2013 to 2021.

Wife
Patriots Dave Ziegler is the new GM of the Raiders. He is married and has three children. They don’t have much on their spouses, or athletes stay away from the public.

Ziegler, the Patriots assistant director of player personnel, is the third candidate to be interviewed for the Broncos’ open general manager position. George Patton of Minnesota and Champ Kelly of Chicago were interviewed on Friday.
Ziegler has spent the past eight years with the Patriots in a variety of roles. He served as Assistant Director of Pro Scouting from 2013-15 and was then promoted to Director of Pro personnel from 2016-19 before assuming his current role in 2020.
Before joining New England, Ziegler spent a brief stint in Denver as a Broncos player personnel assistant/area scout in 2011 and a pro scout in 2012.

Ziegler has been the de facto GM for the Pats and was instrumental in their rapid turnaround in 2021, Rapoport said. New England’s 2021 draft class paid off quickly, drawing valuable contributions from rookie quarterback Mac Jones (perfect No. 15), defensive tackle Christian Barmore (No. 38) and Romondre Stevenson (No. 120).
The pair were together in New England for the better part of a decade, winning three Super Bowls during that time. Ziegler had been in the Pats’ scouting department for the past nine years, although 2021 was his first as director of player personnel. He also spent three years with the Denver Broncos, where he first worked with the McDaniels. He was also a teammate at John Carroll University in Ohio.
The Raiders went 10-7 and are making their first playoff appearance since 2016, losing to the Cincinnati Bengals on Super Wild Card Weekend. Third-year GM Mike Mayock was fired a few days later.

3. Ziegler has not only spent time in college and professionals, he has also served as a high school coach. Before moving to the Denver Broncos in 2010, Ziegler served as special teams coordinator at Chaparral High School in Scottsdale, Arizona.
During that time, he trained in running backs and tight ends, serving as a guidance counselor for the school in coordination with a master’s degree in counseling.

Ziggler, 44, will replace Mike Mayock, who was fired by Davis after a playoff loss to Las Vegas. Ziegler was one of five candidates known for the job. The others were Bengals scout Trey Brown, Bears assistant director of player personnel champ Kelly, Steelers pro scouting coordinator Brandon Hunt, and former Titans general manager Ruston Webster. Ziegler was up for the Broncos’ GM job in 2021, but elected to remain in New England.
