Samajé Perrin (born September 16, 1995) is an American football running back for the Cincinnati Bengals of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football in Oklahoma, and was drafted by the Washington Redskins in the fourth round of the 2017 NFL Draft.

College
Perrin earned immediate playing time at Oklahoma in 2014 as a true freshman. In his first career game, he ran for 77 yards on 13 carries with a touchdown in a win over Louisiana Tech. In his fourth game, he rushed for 242 yards in 34 carries with four touchdowns. On November 15, he scored 213 in 25 carries with three touchdowns against Texas Tech Runs 200 yards. Perrin ran 427 yards on 34 rushes with six touchdowns in the win over Kansas, breaking the NCAA FBS single game rushing record set a week earlier by Melvin Gordon of Wisconsin. He finished his new season with 1,713 rushing yards on 263 carries with 21 touchdowns

Cincinnati Bengals trailing Samaje Perrin caught 4 of 3 goals for 43 yards and a touchdown in a 27-24 overtime win over the Chiefs in Sunday’s AFC Championship game.
Perrin saw no carry, but he did show some clever moves in the open field on his 41-yard touchdown reception in the second quarter. He will continue to work behind Joe Mixon in the backfield but the Bengals have shown they trust him in the passing game. He will now wait to see if he faces the 49ers or the Rams in the Super Bowl in two weeks.

ESPN’s John Keam reports that “a gap remains” between Washington Redskins rookie running back Samjé Perrin and starter Rob Kelly. Keim noted that: “Coaches say he’s still thinking too much when driving the ball, and learning when to juke a guy versus just running over him.”
In 2014, Perrin was one of the most elusive running backs in college football. He forced 74 missed tackles in 262 escape attempts and had an elusive rating of 100.4 (the PFF metric that uses missed tackle rates and measures a runner’s success beyond the point of being helped by his blockers). Draft
Samaje Perine is a fat, compact, injured runner with good feet. Perrin stays low to the ground and can build up to great momentum out of the gate. Perrin has an exceptional work ethic and is a weight-room warrior. He grinds the short-to-intermediate runs working through constant contact. Perrin pitched the short defenders with a tight hand to bounce the runs outside. He was highly productive in Oklahoma over the past three seasons, posting 4,122 yards and 49 touchdowns. The Perrin is a powerful blocker and an excellent short-yardage power back. In the right planning, he will see a lot of touches at the start of his rookie season.

In Saturday’s playoff win over the Raiders, Perrin made a two-yard carry without a goal in the passing game.

Super-strong to a pro tailback, helps steer him through opponents. His overall speed in small areas is above average, and when combined with his good force and power he can regularly break tackles. Great speed for a man with his size, and overall explosive enough to do the job. Will benefit by showing that he can be a regular TD scorer, especially given his intrinsic strength and short-yardage tool. Must also demonstrate that he can be a consistent receiver outside the backfield. His lateral movement is not top tier, and he can seem stiff at times.
