Trade Pistons:
Guard Bryn Forbes has been acquired by the Denver Nuggets, while the Nuggets sent Bol Bol and P.J. Dozier to the Boston Celtics in a three-way deal, with weeks remaining before the NBA trade deadline.
In addition, the San Antonio Spurs acquired Boston forward Juancho Hernangomez and Denver’s 2028 second-round pick, including $2.35 million they receive in the trade, according to sources for ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
Pistons:
With the move, the Nuggets are looking to improve their three-point shooting by adding Forbes, third in 3-point field goal shooting percentage over the past four NBA seasons among players with more than 1,000 attempts, to their roster.
Forbes was a champion with the Milwaukee Bucks in the 2020-21 season, but played his first four NBA seasons with the Spurs, returning to San Antonio in free agency in August.
Is still hurt:
This deal comes just 10 days after the Nuggets attempted to trade Bol to the Detroit Pistons, but the trade was voided when the Pistons “had a problem with Bol’s physical,” according to Mike Singer of the Denver Post.
Bol will undergo foot surgery that will keep him sidelined for 8 to 12 weeks, while Dozier will miss the entire season with a torn ACL.
