And that brings us to the talent gap between Connor and Edmonds. This may sound controversial, but it doesn’t have to be. Connor averages only 3.7 yards per carry, benefiting from an outside 16 touchdowns in just 14 games. It’s just not sustainable. As I’ll share below, Edmonds has played far better in his mid-20s. If Connor is active this week, realistically, he’ll need to score against a tough Cowboys run defense that’s awarding the fifth lowest imaginary points to opposing backfields. I’m tagging Koner as the rb4-floor, rb3-ceiling option – not what managers might have expected.
Status today
The veteran running back by the Cardinals is being viewed as a game-time decision, but there is optimism he will play against Ian Rapoport against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday. The Arizona Cardinals fly east to take on the Dallas Cowboys in Week 17, with the Cardinals needing a win to remain in the playoff hunt. With the release of the week’s final injury report, running back James Conner is officially suspected with a heel injury.
