Suspension
As soon as news broke that Antonio Brown had been suspended three games for misrepresenting his vaccination status, it made people wonder why Aaron Rodgers didn’t suffer the same fate.
Last month, the Bucs wide receiver was accused of receiving fake vaccination cards by a former live-in chef in an apparent attempt to duck the NFL’s vaccine protocol. As Sports Illustrated’s Connor Orr wrote, “This is a felony in some states because falsifying the document would involve forging government seals.”
“Tampa Bay’s Antonio Brown and Mike Edwards have been suspended without pay for the next three games,” the NFL announced. “Free agent John Franklin III, if signed by a club, is also ineligible to play in the next three matches. All three players have accepted the discipline and waived their right of appeal. The suspensions are effective immediately.
Is playing against the bears
Coming out of a bye week and entering Week 14, Rodgers and the Packers (9–3) will play the Bears at Lambeau Field on Sunday night. He threw 32 touchdowns against four interceptions in 13 career starts against Chicago with a quarterback rating of 110.1, winning 11 of them. Rodgers is 22–5 against the Bears as a starter, including in the playoffs, with an 11–3 record at Soldier Field. Green Bay have won their last five games against their NFC North rivals.
The Packers could get a playoff spot in Week 14 with two different scenarios. If the Green Bay beats the Bears, loses or ends in a tie against the St. Jets, and the 49ers lose to the Bengals, the Packers will earn a playoff spot. Green Bay could also secure a spot with a win against the Bears, a Saints loss or tie, a Rams loss to the Cardinals and a 49ers tie against the Bengals.
Rodgers and the Packers could also potentially win NFC North. One scenario involves the Packers winning against the Bears and the Vikings losing or tying against the Steelers. The Packers can also win their division if they tie against the Bears, and the Vikings lose to the Steelers.
