Amanić was born in Zagreb, Croatia.[3] His father, Marko Manik, played basketball professionally for 19 years, including in the Euroleague, with Slovenian club Krka.[4] Because of his father’s career, Shamanik lived in many countries in his early life. When he was nine months old, he moved to Belgium, and later lived in Slovenia and Germany. 

Amanić grew up playing a variety of sports, including football, handball and tennis, and was also involved in breakdancing.  He did not begin playing basketball until the age of 11, the last game he attempted to play. He credits his football experience for improving his coordination as a basketball player.

Croatia

In the 2017–18 season, Amanić competed for FC Barcelona Basket B—FC Barcelona’s reserve team—in the second-tier Spanish league. He debuted on 1 October 2017 in a 76–69 win over Forca Lleida, playing only 4 minutes.  Amanić in his next game versus Cáceres, scoring 10 points in 20 minutes and performing a windmill dunk. stood outside. What happened

Ahead of the start of the regular season, the San Antonio Spurs broke up their roster with some surprising leeway from Croatia’s 2019 first-round pick, Luka Samnik. He had the 6-foot-10 frame and shooting ability coming in that draft to make an NBA impact, with the main roster following two weak go-arounds and questions on effort that never happened.

After unclaimed on a waiver, Samnik signed a two-way contract with the New York Knicks, according to Shams Charnia of The Athletic and Stadium. At just 21 years old, he has a chance to recover from a poor start to his career and find value elsewhere.
