Brian Kelly: Salary| Controversy| lsu contract| Why did leave notre dame
Salary:
CBS Sports reported that Kelly’s contract will be about $15 million a year, meaning his full contract is worth $115 million. The exact amount is still to be determined.
Kelly signed an extension to his contract in 2020, according to Sports Illustrated, which is currently believed to be set at $2.67 million annually.
Controversy:
Notre Dame gets what they deserve. Brian Kelly gets a chance to see through his dream. He also gets a chance to ruin his coaching career–a la the last three Notre Dame coaches before him.
This is a risky hire. Notre Dame takes the risk. Kelly knows with a guaranteed contract, he’ll never have to work again. He’ll never have to win again. All he’ll have to do is show up.
Isu Contract:
“LSU’s offer to Notre Dame coach Brian Kelly is a 10-year deal that will take him north of $100 million with incentives,” via The Athletic’s Matt Fortuna.
The contract details come on a night filled with rumors about LSU’s next head coach being Kelly. While no official word has come in on the hiring.
Why did leave notre dame:
Kelly Notre Dame’s winningest coach in history this season. Kelly has coached at Notre Dame since 2010, and he has two College Football Playoff appearances, and could add another one this year (if he stays on through the remainder of the season).
LSU’s previous three coaches, Orgeron, Les Miles and Nick Saban, all won national titles for the school. So, the stakes are high. Kelly has not won a national title at Notre Dame.
