Police have confirmed that a wrestling fan has been charged with assault after attacking WWE star Seth Rollins in a live television broadcast in New York.
The dramatic scenes unfolded during an episode of WWE’s Monday Night Raw show in Brooklyn, even before the camera quickly cut through.

A fan who collided with and confronted WWE wrestler Seth Rollins during “Raw” was arrested on Monday. According to ESPN’s Mark Raimondi, that fan will be charged with attempted assault and attempted infringement of arts and cultural affairs for his works.
The incident happened when Rollins – real name Colby Daniels Lopez – defeated Finn Balor. While Rollins was walking away from the ring, a fan hit Rollins. The moment was captured during the event—which was held at New York’s Barclays Center—but cameras quickly cut through after the fan drove Rollins to the ground.

According to the NYPD (as reported by ESPN) Spencer is being charged with an attempt to infringe on arts and cultural affairs (for disruption of a live sporting event) as well as an attempt to assault Rollins. In the article, the NYPD confirmed that the incident took place at approximately 21:20 local time, at which point Spencer jumped over the metal barricade that separates fans from the action before attacking Rollins.
The wrestler is said to have refused medical help despite swelling in his lip and was able to walk away from the incident once the attacker was stopped.
Despite footage of the brawl appearing on social media, WWE cameras were relatively quick to bite away from the scene. “WWE takes the safety of its artists very seriously,” the wrestling organization told ESPN in a statement. “The man who attacked Seth Rollins has been handed over to the NYPD and will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.”
