I am sure I will regret it. No one would ever mistake Miles Gaskin for a special talent. In fact, over the past two weeks, he has resembled the former Dolphin running back Cullen Balage (hat tip to our CEO Matt Canata, Balage’s most outspoken advocate). Gaskins made 34 carries and converted them for just 65 yards. It is reminiscent of Balayage’s 2019 season, where he carried the ball 74 times for 135 yards – an astonishing feat of futility indeed.
So why would I ever recommend starting Gaskin? Well, it’s the Jets. New York allows the most fantasy points to be trailed, including the highest percentage of goals for the position (27%) against them. Gaskins has seen at least 4 goals this season in all but two matches.
Additionally, the amount of Gaskin remains elite. Despite being badly disabled, Gaskins touched the ball 26 times in Week 9 and another 15 times in Week 10. Their Snap shares have been up 72% and 61% respectively over the past two weeks.
The Dolphins’ offense should be much better with the debut of Tua Tagovailoa this week. They have a soft matchup against the Jets, and Gaskins remains the clear lead back. Hold your nose and take a dive this week in a pool called Gaskins.

Week 11 can see the return of many starters from injuries, which can create a lot of additional questions in a situation that usually doesn’t require much of them. The biggest name to come back is Saxon Barkley, and I think if he does play his comeback should be pretty straightforward – he’ll probably play 70% or more of Snape, and that’s enough to make him start thinking about it right away. However, there are real questions about whether he’ll actually be able to play, so I’m ranking him as an RB25 and probably avoiding him if I can.
Clyde Edwards-Heller may also be making a comeback from his knee injury, and that poses a tough question. The Chiefs have not committed him as an every-down back, like Barkley, and Darrell Williams has played particularly well as a pass catcher, in his absence. Edwards-Helair is a much better sprinter than Williams and should have a healthy role to play, but the Chiefs have shown they are ready to take CEH off the field in passing down and near the goal line for Williams. If it stays like this, Edwards-Heller is going to have an upside-down shadow. If he’s active he’s the RB24 for me in his expected return against Dallas, but I don’t particularly believe in that.
Fumble
The standout junior running back scored three touchdowns in the first half of No. 6 Washington’s Fresno State 48-16, and with 27 career rapids he is now tied for No. 8 on the school’s list in that category. Effect, indeed.
Under the influence of thunder that is related to electrical thunder – a lost thunder wire – also in dangerous. In a better way: Impressed by the improvisations, it was gaudy-looking thunderbolts—halo! – of the College area of Gaskin.

Gaskins, in fact, appears to be particularly capable after the game. He never should have either.
“It’s painful,” she said. “It’s kind of balancing.”

Start
The Miami Dolphins did not draft or sign a running back this off-season who would play an opening role in the backfield. A big time crunch in the position causes Miles Gaskin to line up for the opening gig.
After Miami added short-yardage back Malcolm Brown and reserve Jordan Scarlett, and drafted Gerid Dox in the seventh round, Gaskins should enter training camp as a starter in a backfield that also included Salvone Ahmed and Patrick Laird. Huh.
Gaskins isn’t worried about pecking orders in the off-season.
“Above my pay grade,” Gaskin said via the Miami Herald. “To be honest with you, obviously they do what they do above. Whatever we bring in, I know it will be the best for the team.
“I don’t think getting a pat or being brought in the back is going to change anything for me. I’m trying to compete with myself, obviously competing with others, but definitely competing with myself.” Make sure I’m running the best I can whenever camp starts, and then as the season progresses, I can be back at the end of July.”
The Dolphins could draft a running back with the No. 18 overall pick. Three top backs were on board for Miami’s second first-rounder last month, but advanced the defense with Jalen Phillips instead. The choice not to back down until the Dox late in the process underscores the club’s confidence in Gaskins and the rest of the group.
