Week 10
The most notable absence for the Dolphins comes at the center where general starter Tua Tagovailoa expects Jacobi to play the game with Brissette as emergency backup.
How Brissette fared last week (244 yards, one touchdown, three total turnovers). The Dolphins build touches for the waddles close to the line of scrimmage (an average depth of 6.7 yards entering the target in Week 10), but not enough receptions from them have turned into explosive gains. Still, the rookie wide receiver has averaged 10.5 goals in the past four games, so he remains valuable in the spec.
Fantasy news
Dolphins wide receiver Jaylen Waddle caught for a pass from 61 yards during Thursday’s win over the Ravens.
fantasy effect
Waddell has been Miami’s best receiver this season, and although he didn’t break out against Baltimore, his performance was strong. The rookie remains an interesting flex option against the Jets in Week 11.
Draft
Former Alabama wide receiver Jaylen Waddle was selected by the Miami Dolphins at No. 6 overall in the 2021 NFL Draft. Shortly after he was drafted, his reaction led to a flood of memes on the internet.
When NFL commissioner Roger Goodell announced the pick, Waddell got up from his seat and immediately turned and walked out of his draft pod, which he shared with friends and family.
While the live video showed Waddell embracing former teammates Patrick Sureten II, Devonta Smith and Mack Jones, he was not seen celebrating with his family.
Number
The Miami Dolphins have issued their uniform number to Jaylen Waddell and, not surprisingly, she will be wearing her college number 17.
Waddell is Miami’s first, first-round draft pick this year to be ranked 6th overall. He has the speed of the whole world and the dolphins believe that he is the weapon that Tua Tagovailoa needs for this crime. A quick receiver with elite legs and speed and more than capable hands.
Dolphins fans were waiting for the jersey number to be released and now they are done. With Waddell now 17, we can look back on the number and see who else has worn it and who Waddell has to outperform in order to become the best at wearing the number.
The last time the number was worn was in 2019 when fellow receiver Alan Hearns wore the number for one season. Prior to this, Ryan Tannehill wore 17 after being drafted number 8 overall in the 2012 draft. Tannehill, of course, was traded to the Titans ahead of the 2019 season.
