Adetokunbo born  December 6, 1994) is a Greek professional basketball player for the Milwaukee Bucks of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Antetokounmpo’s nationality, in addition to his size, speed and ball-handling skills, has earned him the nickname “Greek Freak”.

Born on December 6, 1994, Giannis Sina Ugo Antetokounmpo is a professional NBA player playing for the Milwaukee Bucks. Born in Greece to Nigerian parents, Antetokounmpo began playing basketball as a youngster in Athens. He entered the NBA draft in 2013, where the Milwaukee Bucks picked him 15th overall. He is often referred to as a ‘Greek freak’ because of his nationality and a deadly combination of size, speed and skill.

Francis Antetokounmpo is the oldest of the five Antetokounmpo brothers. Francis was the only one of five brothers who were not born in Greece. When his parents moved to Greece in 1991, he lived in Nigeria, where he was raised by his grandparents before later joining his parents and siblings.

Francis played some basketball in Greece, but his basketball career never progressed in the same way that his brothers did. Instead, he found success as a football player, playing midfielder for a professional club in Greece’s second-tier league.

And as the dust settled in the Arizona area, and the Milwaukee players prepared to travel home, a camera managed to pop up in front of Giannis for some key words for fans.

“I don’t usually do that,” said the older man, turning to the coach of the team. “I’m trying to stay off social media … but we’re going back home, and we’re a game away.”

Then came a direct message to all the excited Bucks fans who watched the clip.

“Speak out loud! We need you guys to do this. Speak out loud!”

And with that he disappeared onto the waiting vehicle, certainly in time to smile about the display that had just gone down. That said, as we know, he would quickly stop the feelings that Deandre Ayton attempted to slam, and would turn his attention to Game 6.

Height

Standing 2.11 m (6 ft 11 in) tall and weighing around 109 kg (240 lbs), the Greek freak led his rookie year and averaged 17 points per game as of 2015.

In December 2016, he recorded a nearly triple-double with 11 points, 12 rebounds and 8 assists, helping the Bucks break the Golden State Warriors’ record unbeaten 24 games.

At the age of 21, he became the youngest Buck to record a triple-double in a win against the LA Lakers.

In September 2016, he agreed to a four-year, $100 million contract extension with the Bucks. By December, he had a career-high 39 points, eight rebounds and six assists in a 123–96 victory over the Washington Wizards.

In January 2017, he was confirmed as the starter for the Eastern Conference All-Star team for the 2017 NBA All-Star Game.

At 22 years and 74 days, he became the youngest player in franchise history to debut in the All-Star Game and the first Greek NBA All-Star.
