With the NFL enacting new replay rules to include pass interference on plays when a flag is thrown or not thrown, is it anything more than opportunities for Mike Tomlin to waste challenges and timeouts? Will not done?

Pittsburgh Steelers fans certainly don’t as they expect the team’s head coach to stop relying on his gut feeling and on his coaches and his eyes.

Tomlin has been grappling with his challenges over the past three seasons, and four of the last five. Over the past five seasons, Tomlin has managed to take the challenge 8 times in 29 attempts. The success rate of 27.6% in this period should have fans terrified of challenges up to 50-yards.

Football has been a part of Maryland wide receiver Dino Tomlin’s life, on and off the field, since the day he was born, but it has never been more important than his family.

Tomlin is the son of Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin and the nephew of former Terrapin safety Ed Tomlin, who played on the 1988 and 1989 Terrapin teams.

“Football has always been a thing, but our family considers it my father’s job,” Dino said. “I never talked about football with my dad growing up. We would watch it and I would be around more of it than the average person, but that wasn’t necessarily everything.”

Each member of the Tomlin family always has their own preferences.

Wins

Mike Tomlin made history during the Pittsburgh Steelers’ 29-27 win over the Chicago Bears on Monday night. Tomlin reached the 150th victory of his career as head coach of the Steelers. In the process, Tomlin passed his predecessor, Bill Cowher, who won 149 games during his 15 years at the Pittsburgh side.

Tomlin, 49, needed only 232 games to reach 150 wins, making him the fourth-fastest coach to reach that milestone. He is one of 21 head coaches to reach 150 wins and joins Chuck Knoll as the second Steelers coach to reach that milestone.

Wife

As many supporters as Tomlin has for her work on the field, she has no one in her pocket quite like Kia Tomlin, formerly Kia Winston, the wife of Steelers coach Mike Tomlin.

Kia grew up in Morristown, New Jersey and attended Morristown High School. The two met while attending the College of William and Mary, where she was a pre-med student and a gymnast, while Mike was a wide receiver for the football team.
