Logan Webb, right-handed starting pitcher in Double-A right now and the Giants’ #5 prospect according to MLB Pipeline, has been suspended 80 games for violating the league’s performance enhancing drug policy.
Injury update:
Webb allowed one earned run on four hits and one walk while striking out seven across seven innings in Game 5 of the NLDS on Thursday against the Dodgers. He did not factor into the decision.
Three of the four hits Webb allowed came against Mookie Betts, and his only earned run came on a double by Corey Seager in the sixth inning. Webb otherwise dominated the Dodgers, inducing nine groundouts. Though the Giants came up short in the series finale, Webb allowed only one earned run across 14.2 innings while striking out 17 and walking one in two starts in the NLDS.

Webb, who went 7 2/3 scoreless in Game 1, struck out seven and walked one in another stellar outing. He’s going to enter 2022 as a top-20 fantasy SP, which is pretty incredible for a guy who was briefly removed from the Giants’ rotation in April.
