Daniel Stephen Jones III, nicknamed Danny Dimes, is an American football quarterback for the New York Giants of the National Football League. He played college football at Duke and was selected sixth overall by the Giants in the 2019 NFL Draft.

Jones attended Charlotte Latin School in Charlotte, North Carolina. [1] During his high school career, he had 6,997 passing yards and 98 touchdowns. Despite these numbers, Jones was recruited barely coming out of high school and was not ranked by Rivals.com.[2] He originally committed to Princeton University, but eventually committed to college football. To play was committed to Duke University.

Injury
Giants quarterback Daniel Jones was taken to the locker room after suffering a head injury in the second quarter on Sunday.
Jones was hurt as he ran towards the end zone in a third and goal attempt. He stood up and attempted to walk back after the hit, but the New York signal-caller stumbled before he could regain his balance. The veteran trainers then ran into Jones and led him to the shore.
Mike Glennon ended the drive for New York as Devonte Booker scored to tie the contest 10–10. Jones did not return before halftime as Dallas took a 17–10 lead, and was subsequently knocked out of the competition. Dallas won, 44-20.
Concussion
Daniel Jones was in “good spirits” after Sunday’s second quarter, according to wide receiver Kenny Golladay.
But it was a small consolation after watching the Giants’ starting quarterback waver in the end zone of AT.
Jones had almost three minutes left in the first half of Sunday after going for the helmet with Cowboys linebacker Jabril Cox.
Jones placed the ball on the third read field and scored from the 1-yard line and ran left for the end zone. He put his head down to try and barreled into the end zone and collided with Cox’s helmet and snapped his neck back.
The ball came out as soon as Jones hit the turf. He was slow to stand up, leaned back down, then stumbled when he got to his feet and nearly fell. Eventually the Giants’ medical team arrived, examined him, and drove Jones to the car on the way to the Giants’ locker room.
Hit
Giants quarterback Daniel Jones was grounded and ejected after being hit helmet-to-helmet by Cowboys linebacker Jabril Cox during the first half of Sunday’s game. Jones was staggered as he tried to jog back after sustaining the hit. He has been replaced by Mike Glennon.
Along with Jones, Saxon Barkley and receiver Kenny Golladay left Sunday’s game with injuries. Barkley was dropped due to an ankle injury. Golade is out with a knee injury.
While he had just 5 passes from 13 before the injury, Jones led the Giants on two scoring drives and another drive that ended with a missed field goal. His 38-yard completion for rookie Kadarius Tony set up Graham Gano’s 51-yard field goal. Several plays before sustaining his injury, Jones completed a 28-yard pass to Tony that eventually set up Devin Booker’s game-tying touchdown run. After Jones’ injury, The Giants leveled the score at 10-10. They trailed 17-10 at halftime after the Cowboys scored on their final drive before halftime.
Helmet to helmet
In a horrific scene, Giants quarterback Daniel Jones sustained an injury on a helmet-to-helmet hit from Cowboys linebacker Jabril Cox and was forced to leave the game in the second quarter on Sunday afternoon.
The play – on a naked bootleg from the 1-yard line – left Jones faltering and unable to walk under his own power after a tackle near the goal line. Television replays also showed Jones spitting something out of his mouth.
He was eventually taken to the locker room for further evaluation, and Jones had to get down on a carriage. The Giants knocked out Jones with a blowout, and Mike Glennon played the remainder of the game at quarterback.
Devonte Booker scored a touchdown in the next game in the game for the injured Saxon Barkley. A point-after kick from Graham Gano leveled the score at 10.
