Ole Miss coach Len Kiffin took to Twitter to poke fun at himself after popcorn’s remarks during the Rebels’ 42-21 loss to number one Alabama on Saturday.
Kiffin tweeted a photo of a stack of different types of popcorn on a chair in his office on Thursday and wrote, “Thanks to all the fans @AlabamaFTBL @OleMissFB appreciate it!”
In addition, Ole Miss plans to give away free popcorn to the first 5,000 fans on Saturday at Watt-Hemingway Stadium for the Arkansas game. The official Twitter page of the Ole Miss football team featured “Popcorn Ready!” Along with the phrase is a picture of Kiffin holding a bucket of popcorn.

opening statement:
52-51, you know, great result that we won. But at the same time, I’ll also point out whether it’s good, bad or nostalgic, there’s a process you want to play well and we obviously didn’t do that in some areas. We had four or five minutes left and then obviously the defense had a chance to win the game.

Lane Kiffin may have embarrassed himself a bit with his pregame comments before facing Alabama on Saturday, but at least the Ole Miss coach got a good breakfast out of it.
Kiffin appeared confident enough to prepare to host Ole Miss’s No. 1 Alabama, asking viewers on CBS to “prepare your popcorn” before dropping off their headsets to end a pregame interview. The decision quickly seemed silly. Alabama took a 21–0 lead, winning 41–21 as Kiffin’s team looked utterly unmatched.

It’s Tuesday afternoon. We’re less than 24 hours away from an Ole Miss Week 1 victory over a lousy Louisville team and almost six weeks away from LSU’s scheduled trip to The Grove. There’s no real reason anyone should be talking trash to anyone just yet… but Lane Kiffin never needs a reason.
On Saturday, LSU ball coach Ed Orgeron erupted in a bit of viral hopsi, which was heard on camera before UCLA’s trademark blue “sissy” was waxed by the Bruins 38-27 at the Rose Bowl. Following the victory, UCLA’s social media team retaliated, and apparently Kiffin, whose own rebels wore “sissy blue” on Monday, got wind of the stampede. By Tuesday, he was right in the middle of it.
