Injury:

According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Montgomery is not believed to have suffered a major injury after hyperextending his knee. The Bears will run additional tests to be sure, but it sounds like reassuring news on the Montgomery front.

Montgomery had 23 carries for 106 yards and two touchdowns before leaving with a knee injury.

Montgomery took to Twitter after the game to share a message: “YOU ARE AN AWESOME GOD !!!” That could indicate he received encouraging news.

When Bears running back David Montgomery was seen writhing in pain on the ground during the fourth quarter of Sunday’s win against the Lions, we expected the worse.

But it sounds like encouraging news for Chicago’s most consistent and productive offensive player after initial tests.

After exiting early in the fourth quarter, Montgomery walked off with the help of the training staff to the locker room. He was quickly ruled out with a knee injury that is now believed to be a hyper extension.

The veteran will have an MRI on Monday to see the severity of the injury. If he is to miss an extensive amount of time, Damien Williams is worth an add in all fantasy formats.

Highlights:

The unfortunate reality of the return of the NFL is that when players are allowed to go full speed, injuries are bound to happen. Week 4 of the NFL season was no exception.

Now that fantasy football managers are updating their lineups for the coming week, several players have found themselves on the injury report, leaving their status for Week 5 in the air.

pff:

Chicago Bears starting RB David Montgomery has had a bit of an up-and-down start to his professional career. Lauded as potentially the next big thing after leading college football in broken tackles in both 2017 and 2018, Montgomery was literally earning comparisons to an entire group of proven stud professional backs before he stepped foot on an NFL field.

Then 2019 happened and the future suddenly wasn’t quite so bright. Montgomery wasn’t bad, but his standing as the RB30 in PPR points per game was hardly the sort of return that fantasy football investors had been hoping for.
