Arkansas vs Texas A&M: Aggies Roll Past Razorbacks 34-7 in Dominant SEC Win

Texas A&M delivered a statement performance in the Arkansas vs Texas A&M matchup Saturday, defeating the Razorbacks 34-7 at Kyle Field on Oct. 3, 2026. The victory gave the Aggies their first SEC win of the season and the 800th victory in program history.

Texas A&M improved to 3-2 overall and 1-2 in conference play, while its defense produced one of its strongest performances of the season.

Texas A&M Controls Arkansas From Start to Finish

The Aggies dominated both sides of the ball, finishing with 401 total yards compared with just 214 for Arkansas. Texas A&M also held the Razorbacks to 103 rushing yards and 111 passing yards.

The Aggies jumped ahead quickly after senior safety Dalton Brooks intercepted Arkansas on the second play of the game. Freshman Carsyn Baker converted the takeaway into a 2-yard rushing touchdown to give Texas A&M an early 7-0 advantage.

Freshman KJ Edwards then broke loose for a 20-yard touchdown run, putting the Aggies ahead 14-0 with three minutes remaining in the first quarter.

Arkansas responded before the quarter ended when Chris Marshall caught a 26-yard touchdown pass, cutting the deficit to 14-7.

That would be as close as the Razorbacks would get.

Marcel Reed Leads the Aggies Offense

Quarterback Marcel Reed delivered an efficient performance for Texas A&M, completing 13 of 19 passes for 170 yards. He also added 66 rushing yards and a touchdown on the ground.

Reed’s 1-yard rushing touchdown late in the second quarter extended the Aggies’ lead to 21-7.

Texas A&M then entered halftime with even more momentum when kicker David Olano drilled a career-long 57-yard field goal as time expired.

The kick gave the Aggies a 24-7 advantage at the break.

KJ Edwards and Carsyn Baker Make History

The freshman running back combination of KJ Edwards and Carsyn Baker played a major role in the victory.

Edwards scored twice on the ground, including a 20-yard touchdown in the first quarter and a 3-yard touchdown on Texas A&M’s opening drive of the second half. Baker also added a rushing score.

Together, Edwards and Baker became the first Texas A&M freshman duo to score rushing touchdowns in the same game since 2017.

The Aggies ultimately recorded four rushing touchdowns in the game, with three coming from freshmen.

Chris Marshall Provides Arkansas’ Only Touchdown

While Arkansas struggled offensively, Chris Marshall provided the Razorbacks’ lone scoring highlight.

Marshall’s 26-yard touchdown reception late in the first quarter briefly gave Arkansas momentum. However, Texas A&M’s defense quickly regained control and prevented the Razorbacks from scoring again.

Arkansas managed only 3-of-10 conversions on third down, while the Aggies also won the turnover battle thanks to Brooks’ early interception.

David Olano Comes Through With Long Field Goals

Special teams also played an important role in the Aggies’ victory.

David Olano connected on two field goals from beyond 50 yards. His 57-yard kick at the end of the first half was a career best and gave Texas A&M a major boost heading into halftime.

He later added a 50-yard field goal early in the fourth quarter, pushing the Aggies’ lead to 34-7.

The 57-yard conversion was Texas A&M’s longest made field goal since a 62-yard kick in 1999.

Texas A&M Defense Shuts Down Arkansas

The defensive performance was arguably the biggest takeaway from the game.

Texas A&M limited Arkansas to only 214 total yards and seven points. The seven points were the fewest the Aggies had allowed Arkansas to score since 1991.

Dalton Brooks made the game’s early interception, while Daymion Sanford and Tawfiq Byard led the defense with six tackles apiece.

The Aggies consistently won at the line of scrimmage and prevented Arkansas from sustaining drives.

A&M Football Reaches 800 Wins

The victory was especially significant for a&m football, as Texas A&M recorded the 800th win in program history.

The Aggies also played in front of a season-best crowd of 108,657 at Kyle Field, marking the fifth-largest attendance figure in the stadium’s history.

Head coach Mike Elko praised the team’s response after adversity, highlighting the Aggies’ physicality, running game, defense, special teams and ability to protect the football.

What’s Next for Texas A&M?

Following the win over Arkansas, Texas A&M will return to the road for another SEC matchup.

The Aggies travel to Columbia on Oct. 10 to face No. 25 Missouri at Faurot Field at Memorial Stadium. The game is scheduled for an 11 a.m. kickoff and will air on ABC.

For Arkansas, the 34-7 defeat highlights the need for significant improvement on both sides of the ball as the Razorbacks continue their SEC schedule.

The Aggies’ combination of a powerful rushing attack, efficient quarterback play, strong defense and reliable special teams proved too much for Arkansas. For Texas A&M, the result was not only an important SEC victory but also a milestone 800th win in program history.
