Louisiana Fights Back, But USC Pulls Away
Louisiana quarterback Lunch Winfield helped the Ragin’ Cajuns remain competitive. After USC moved ahead 14-3, Winfield helped orchestrate a scoring drive that ended with Steven Blanco’s 1-yard touchdown run.
Louisiana also added two fourth-quarter touchdowns, with Winfield scoring on a 32-yard run and Russell Babineaux catching a 14-yard touchdown pass.
However, USC’s offensive firepower proved too much. The Trojans eventually extended their advantage to 49-23 before Louisiana scored its final touchdown.
