Taylor Walker, also known as Tex Walker, is a professional Australian rules footballer who plays for the Adelaide Football Club in the Australian Football League. He is a former NSW Scholarship player with the club, and was drafted with pick 75 in the 2007 national draft.

The Crows family has grown once more with Adelaide forward Taylor Walker and his wife Ellie welcoming a healthy baby boy.
The couple announced the arrival of Louis Jack Walker on Thursday.
“I am in love with you buddy and can’t wait to watch you and Hugo grow up,” Taylor wrote on Instagram.
“We are going to have some fun!”
Nickname:
Heard through a friend who works at the club that Taylor Walker
as spoken to the entire club and appealed to revoke the ‘Tex’ nickname from AFLW player Sarah Perkins. He allegedly said that sharing the nickname could detract from his legacy down the track and he feared it may cause people to confuse him with a woman. I guess now we just have to wait and see if they comply with his request.
Mullet:
The boy from Broken Hill is now a man rated, by peers, as the AFL’s best captain and preparing to lead Adelaide in Saturday’s grand final against Richmond at the MCG.
The Crows plucked Walker from the North Broken Hill footy club in the isolated mining town just inside the NSW border.

Tex joined Roo and Ditts this morning and Ditts put it – pretty strongly – to The Big Texan – that perhaps the club would rather invest minutes in some of the younger forward talent like Fogarty and Himmelberg
Tex also spoke about his tips for the Crows’ B&F and got especially animated when discussing players who don’t shout their round at the pub – Mad Monday was clearly still fresh in his mind

There were 1 or 2 reasons [for stepping down],” he said. “I wanted to finish off my career with some enjoyment and freedom. Also Ellie and I are starting a new family, my wife is pregnant”
The news comes almost a year after Taylor and Ellie sadly lost their unborn baby in November last year.

Injury:
Walker’s pre-season was limited due to a nagging foot injury, which has since held him back from getting through training and games.
The Crows say he will miss a few weeks to undergo a conditioning program, with the view of returning to AFL once fully fit.
Forward Riley Knight will also be monitored due to hamstring tendinitis, and will also miss some action.
