Contract
Andrus is owed $14 million in each of the next two seasons. The $120 million, eight-year contract he signed in 2015 includes a $15 million option for 2023 that now, because of the trade, becomes a player option if he has 550 plate appearances in 2022, or 1,100 combined in 2021-22.
Wife
Andrus married girlfriend Cori Febles in a ceremony at his home on June 1, 2017. The couple welcomed their first child, Elvis Emilio, on July 6, 2017. On November 28, 2018 they welcomed their second child, a girl, named Lucia Alessandra. For the 2019 season, Andrus adopted “Baby Shark” as his walk-up song because it reminded him of his children.
Fantasy
Andrus singled and scored the first run of the game on a double hit by Matt Olson in the third inning. He later singled in the ninth inning, scoring on a walk-off home run hit by Jed Lowrie. Andrus has picked up at least one hit in six of his last seven games.
