The Miami Dolphins were at the center of pre-draft chaos, shipping the No. 3 pick to No. 12 for the San Francisco 49ers, first-rounder in 2022 and 2023, and an additional third-rounder the following year. But the Finns didn’t wait long before coming back in the top 10, that No. 12 selection and one of their 2022 first-round picks as part of the Philadelphia Eagles’ package, bringing this year’s No. 6 overall choice to Miami. Kyle Shanaha:https://sportsjone.com/wp-admin/post.php?post=6067&action=edit The Niners, especially their head coach, have long fought the notion that they are sour on Jimmy Garrappolo. The quarterbacks generally provided solid (sometimes spectacular) play, but injuries ruined their 2018 and 2020 seasons – and, by extension, that of San Francisco. Though never a pro bowler, Jimmy G had his best NFL campaign in 2019 – the only time he threw for at least 3,000 yards or surpassed a TD pass (27) – and the 49ers called it a Super Bow.

Friday was an extremely busy day in the NFL, as two major trades centered around draft picks rocked the league in the first round, the team’s plan for April, and indeed the big stage. It all started when the Miami Dolphins sent the No. 3 overall pick in the NFL Draft in 2021 as the No. 12 overall pick for the San Francisco 49ers, a third-round pick in 2022, a first-round pick in 2022. First round pick in 2023.

After the ink still dried on that transaction, the Dolphins sent the No. 12 overall pick, the 2022 first-round pick, and their No. 123 pick to the Philadelphia Eagles this year to No. 6, and overall. Received Philly’s No. 156 in the deal.

If you thought the San Francisco 49ers were going to start their weekend early, you were definitely wrong. On Friday, the team traded a blockbuster to move nine places in the draft. ESPN’s Adam Shekre reported that the 49ers traded for their 12-overall pick, a 2022 third-round compensatory pick, and the Miami Dolphins’ No. 3 overall pick in 2022 and 2023.

According to a Schefter source, the deal was not done overnight. The 49ers have been trying to get into the top 5 of the draft for several weeks and finally found their partner.
