Liv Morgan defended her SmackDown Women’s Championship against Shayna Baszler at Clash at the Castle on Saturday night. It is very clear that the champion is at a distinct disadvantage. Chances are that Ronda Rousey may somehow involve herself in this match.

Charlotte Flair could also make her comeback, change face and help Morgan fight the MMA duo. Flair lost her SmackDown Women’s Championship to Rousey at Extreme Rules. However, she may value revenge for coming back and competing for the championship, if it means getting rid of longtime rival Ronda Rousey in the process.

After 30 years, WWE is finally bringing a big stadium event to the United Kingdom. The clash ended at Castle on 3 September from Millennium Stadium in Cardiff, Wales.

In the main event, undisputed WWE Champion Roman Reigns will stake his title against Drew McIntyre of the UK. It’s an epic struggle that puts Reign’s 700-day-long reign of title at high risk of ending. The SmackDown Women’s Title is also set to be defended as Liv Morgan takes on a new challenger in Shayna Baszler.

The production of the show has started but the full card has not been finalised. With that in mind, let’s take a look at what we know – and what we expect – in WWE Clash at Castle.

Before SummerSlam, McIntyre defeated Sheamus to become the No. 1 contender for the undisputed title. Reigns then retained his title at SummerSlam by defeating Brock Lesnar in a Last Man Standing match and set up the match with McIntyre. McIntyre will clearly have the hometown crowd behind him but finishing Reigns’ title race has proved nearly impossible.

WWE began the show with a six-man tag team match, defeating The Street Profits and Madcap Moss against Theory and Alpha Academy.

A high-energy opener, it sufficiently exposed all six contestants before Montez Ford exploded late and ended Chad Gable with his awe-inspiring frog splash.

It was the perfect taste of things to come. Despite having no prior story to speak, the crowd was a meltdown for everyone involved. Moss, in particular, looked great and continues to impress whenever he gets the chance to show himself inside the squared circle.

It was mostly meaningless, but it popped the crowd and informed viewers that the show’s setting was unlike any in recent memory.
