The 2022 Big Ten Men’s Basketball Tournament will be a postseason men’s basketball tournament for the Big Ten Conference of the 2021–22 NCAA Division I men’s basketball season which will take place March 9–13, 2022. The tournament will be held at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana.

There were only two Big Ten games on Wednesday in Indianapolis, and both pretty much went as expected.
The first game of the game saw Northwestern take down Nebraska in a nail-biter, 71–69 to move on to the next round. Then, Penn State defeated Minnesota 60–51 thanks to a strong second half where the Nittany Lions outscored the Golden Gophers by 13.
Those two wins mean that both higher seeds are moving on to the second round. The next round features the Big Ten teams seeded No. 5–10, all of whom earned a single bye with their regular season play.

Early on, it appears to be a two-team race between either No. 8 Purdue (25-6, 14-6 in Big Ten Play) or No. 10 Wisconsin (24-6, 15-5 Big Ten). But the conference features three more teams ranked in the AP Top 25 in No. 20 Illinois, No. 23 Ohio State and No. 24 Iowa.
Other teams to consider are Michigan State and Rutgers — not to mention Michigan, which is dangerously close to missing the tournament altogether a year after making it to the Elite Eight of the 2021 NCAA Tournament. Will Juwan Howard’s return from suspension be enough to spur a March Madness bid?
