  • Dustin Pourier and Dan Hooker battled for 25 minutes on Saturday night, which could have been Fight of the Year.
  • Nearly 10 months after losing the unilateral title to the game’s toughest division, former interim lightweight champion Dustin Poirier was willing to go through hell to earn his place in the line.
  • Poirier, in his first appearance after hip and labrum surgery, overthrew Dan Hooker in a 155-pound duel that was nothing short of barbaric theater. Poire (26–6, 1 NC) made a unanimous decision (48–47, 48–47, 48–46) in a Fight of the Year contender that was a perfect display of technique, heart, and violence.
