The 2022 FIFA World Cup has been set as the 22nd edition of the FIFA World Cup, which is a quadrangular international male association football championship organized by national teams of FIFA member associations. It is going to be in Qatar in 2022. This will be the first world cup in Arab and the first in a Muslim-dominated country.

This will be the first World Cup to be held entirely in Asia since the 2002 tournament in South Korea and Japan (including an Asian venue, Yekaterinburg in the 2018 competition in Russia). Apart from this, the tournament will be the last to include 32 teams, with the addition of 48 teams set for the 2026 tournament. World Cup champions are France

The 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifying Asian section will serve as the qualifier for the 2022 FIFA World Cup, which is for the national teams scheduled in Qatar, which are members of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC). In addition to Qatar, who are automatically eligible as hosts, a total of 4.5 slots (4 Direct slots and 1 Inter-Confederations play-off slot) are available for AFC teams in the final tournament.
