How can i create points table with net run rate for local cricket match?

The net run rate of a team is calculated by subtracting the average runs per over made by that team in the competition, during the competition, average runs per over against that team.

The Net Run Rate  is a statistical method used in the analysis of teamwork and / or performance in cricket. It is the most commonly used method of teams with similar points in limited over league competitions.

As an example, we have 2014 min. Bern’s net run-rate is taken in the Pickwick Cup. The list of burns in Western group points table was as follows:

PosTeamPlayedWonTie/AbandonedLostFor (r/o)Against (r/o)NRRPoints
 1.Berne CC4400 538/74.8302/80.0+3.428

The columns we are looking at here are the last three: “Net -RR”, “For” and “Against” In the “Net-RR” column, the data “For” column is obtained by subtracting the answer to the split in the “For” column, from the “Against” column.

To use this example:

Bern CC scored in the tournament:

  • Against Cossonay CC 85-5 (17.4 overs)
  • Rebel CC 156-4 (20 overs)
  • 161-7 (20 overs) against Swiss Colts
  • CC 136-3 (17.4 overs) against Geneva XI stars

In four matches, Bern CC scored 538 runs at a total of 74 overs and 8 balls (74.8) at 7.192 (strictly speaking it is 75.2).

Teams opposing Burn cc:

  • Cossonay 82-9 (20 overs)
  • Average of 33 runs (14.2 overs)
  • Colts 52-9 (20 overs)
  • Geneva XI stars 135-6 (20 overs)

In the case of Berne CC & Uprising CC, because Uprising CC were all out before their allotted 20 overs expired, the run rate is calculated as if they had scored their runs over the full 20 overs (+5.4 overs).

Therefore, the run-rate scored against Berne CC across the four games is calculated on the basis of 302 runs in a total of 20 + 20 + 20 + 20 = 80 overs, a rate of 302/80 or 3.775 rpo.

The net run-rate is, therefore,

7.192  Run-rate for
3.775  Run-rate against
+ 3.417  ANSWER
